Notes: ~ This song was recorded in June of 1956 as one of five tracks during an early session for what would become
Perry's September 1957 RCA Victor pop album release "We Get Letters" . Only three songs from this session
were eventually used in the album with other tracks recorded in February of 1957. Of the two unreleased songs,
only one was released in later years within an RCA Camden compilation. This song is not known to have been
released at any time. ( see unreleased listings within the album link )
 
This song, composed in 1945, had great meaning to returning service personnel and their loved ones at the
conclusion of World War II. Fourteen weeks on "Your Hit Parade," five times as # 1, it hap top-of-the-chart records
by Bing Crosby, with Les Paul's Trio ( Decca ) and Harry James, with vocal by Kitty Kallen ( Columbia ). It was also
heard in the motion picture musical "I'll Get By", a re-make of "Tin Pan Alley," 1950.
